Abstract

This study aims to analyze production factors that affect the efficiency of kale seed farming in Bulangkulon Village, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency. The production factors studied include seeds, urea fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, leaf fertilizer, pesticides, and labor. Optimization analysis was carried out using the marginal product value approach (NPMxi) compared to the price of input factors (Pxi). The results showed that seeds and pesticides were the factors that contributed the most to increasing production, with marginal product values ​​of Rp61,080,000 and Rp5,329,000, respectively. NPK fertilizer also contributed significantly, while the use of urea fertilizer and labor approached the efficiency limit. These findings are in line with previous studies that highlight the importance of efficiency in the use of agricultural inputs, although there are variations in results due to different environmental conditions and cultivation techniques. The conclusion of this study is that proportional allocation of production factors and application of optimal input doses can increase the efficiency and productivity of kale seed farming. Optimization of the use of seeds and pesticides is recommended to maximize production results. Thus, the results of this study are expected to be a reference for farmers in managing their farming businesses more efficiently and sustainably.
