Impact of Scholarships on Student’s Academic Achievement in Punjab, Pakistan
Abstract
Finance plays an important role in the education sector. The students that have good financial status get the opportunity to avail effective education from the renowned educational institutions , whereas students belonging to the poor family remain unable to continue their education and receive the higher education from the well reputed educational institutes. The results showed that the students were agreed about the statement that scholarship create the environment of competition among the students that inspired them in achieving goals (mean=4.08, weighted score=690). Scholarships catalyst the students towards their educational achievements (mean=3.75, weighted score=633) and when students begin to lose interest in study scholarships redirect them back to the study (mean=3.69, weighted score=623). Scholarships encourage the students to study attentively (mean=3.98, weighted score= 672). Scholarships develop the habit of book reading (mean = 3.96, weighted score = 670), and scholarships develop the habit of time management among the students for achieving goals at time (mean = 3.83, weighted score = 648). Majority of the students agreed that they achieved the goal of best grade points due to scholarship (mean = 4.08, weighted score = 690) and scholarships help you in achieving the goal of better performance in the class (mean = 3.83, weighted score = 647).
